Type 1 Bullying – Setting It Straight

I do not hide the fact that I am a type 1 Diabetic.  While I am living life large (I’m a bit chunky right now) I have not always been as big.  My weight problems is linked to a thyroid / metabolism problem not related to diabetes.

I have experienced this type of bullying in the past from co-workers, family, and sadly even some friends.  This was produced in the U.K. but it really speaks volumes about the truth.  Watch it and let me know what you think.

Are you a Diabetic Bully?

  1. Hey Allen,

Thank you for posting that. Though I am Type II, and oddly enough, was diagnosed when I was 140 pounds (I am 5’10”), I actually have a friend back home in New York, a CHILDHOOD FRIEND, who ALSO has Type II, who, when we get together, will eat ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING IN SIGHT, and then literally call me names (sissy, chicken) because I try to really stick to my diet. I am sorry to say, his diabetes is horribly out-of-control because he is two inches taller than me, and weight 250 pounds more than me, and tells me, “F*ck diabetes. I DON’T CARE!”

    Thank you for this video.
